"Breast Cancer Awareness: ACT Early to give time" with Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB)

October is internationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM); a time when millions of people around the world work together to shine a spotlight on a disease that affects so many. The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) says, “Research suggests that one third of cancer deaths can be avoided through education, the dispelling of myths and misconceptions and addressing the known modifiable risk factors, which are known to cause cancers.’’1 So, facing untold queries of female mind, through awareness event is still a vital option to educate them about breast cancer.

This year with the title "Breast Cancer Awareness: ACT Early to give time" was organized by Roche Bangladesh Limited and supported by Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB) to engage more than 100 participants.

Two renowned oncologists from Shanti Cancer Foundation and National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH) were keynote speakers. The events were chaired by President of WEAB. The homely environment helped the participants to ask their questions easier than earlier. Moreover, the session became more engaging, where the experience of breast cancer combat was shared by a true fighter.
